From Philadelphia To Chicago

We are heading more and more to the west.  Our next destinations are Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone National Park. But first an update about the last couple days.

After all the history in Washington there was another city to tell us more about the beginning of the States: Philadelphia. We also couldn’t leave Philly without trying the delicious Philly Cheese steak, a sandwich with meat and cheese.
After Philadelphia we went to the Amish Village. During the tour we learned a lot about how the Amish people live. It was very interesting.

Chocolate is a very nice treat, and Mr. Hersey build his own town called Hersey after making a very big fortune in selling Hersey chocolate. In the Hersey factory, we had a tour and we both made our own chocolate candy bar.

We visited a few cities around Lake Michigan and there is now better view of the lake then at Mount Baldy. A very big Dune near Michigan city.
Chicago is also a city bordering the lake, is well known as the Windy City. A few hotspots are the Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, The Cloud Gate aka The Bean and Eli’s Cheesecake World. We had three days to visit them all. At the Cheesecake Café we tried many very delicious cheesecake pies, like the Pumpkin, Oreo and Chocolate Truffle cheesecake pie.

The Americans are all prepared for Halloween, just a couple days left before we all can say: trick or treat! Even the animals in the Zoo were all in the mood. We can’t wait to celebrate Halloween here, but we are not so sure yet where ‘here’ will be. We will soon update you more.

Love, Lieu & Phuong
